If your flat panel TV is just sitting on something wasting space and showing its ugly wires, you owe it to yourself and your entertainment center to do something about it!
Don't let that expensive new T.V. just sit there.
Wall mounting your TV is one of the best ways to spruce up your entertainment center. Placing them directly on the wall opens up valuable space and is very aesthetically pleasing. The process for mounting the TV is pretty straight forward but does require a bit of know how. First off you have to choose a mount that is right for your TV, they sell different size mounts for different size TV's. Next you have to decide where you want your TV mounted. Once you decide on a location you will have to pick a comfortable viewing height, this is a personal preference but if your like to watch movies in your recliner, than mounting it fairly high would be a good idea. Now that you have found your ideal height its time to find your studs. This can be accomplished with a good stud-finder. The mount kit you purchased should have proper mounting hardware, if not you I would suggest getting some good lag bolts. These have a hex head and are larger, longer, and stronger than typical wood screws. To find level I usually measure down from the ceiling equally on both sides and make a visible mark. Drive the lag bolts through the holes in the mount and into the studs. If all looks good and feels solid you can decide if you want to install a wire hiding kit into your wall. At this point if you are going through all the hassle of wall mounting your TV you should definitely hide your wires, nothing attracts the eye more than unsightly wires all over the place. Wire hiding is a whole other topic for a whole other day. Bolt the TV side of the mount to the TV and set it on the wall mount. And that's the just of it.
This has a tendency to be a larger project than most home owners will want to take on. That is where I come in, I very much enjoy doing these kinds of projects. Entertainment centers are always fun to set up. So if you want your TV wall mounted in Bend Give me a call and I would be happy to do it for you.
